Operation, Maintenance and Repair Documents

Operation, Maintenance and Repair Documents

Description

Understanding the "WHAT", "HOW" and sometimes "WHY" of the structure and function of a product described in a technical documentation (TD) is an integral part of the safe operation and efficient use of this product.

This kind of information is indispensable to a proper TD, especially when it comes to integrated plants and systems, which often consist of components with different technologies.

With our wealth of experience gained from many technical disciplines, we at eko•ILS Logistics GmbH are able to tackle these documentation creation related aspects for our customers.

Operation

A description of how to operate the device allows the user to operate and use the device properly thanks to the proper description of the relevant procedures. A key element in this regard is the identification of potential hazards involved when handling the described technical configuration. Appropriate warnings are intended to prevent operator error and any resulting consequential damage.

Precise and unambiguous wording and graphics to visualise the description help make the documentation easier to understand and more effective.

Operation Plans, StartUp-ShutDown Checks

Sometimes documentation must be specifically arranged according to the project’s specific requirements.

Hence, clearly structured documents arranged sequentially as a "check list" are a lot clearer and easier to follow when it comes to describing periodical yet non-trivial activities. This kind of documentation is used, for example, when describing more extensive processes such as the start-up and shutdown procedures of complex plants and systems.

Repair Planning

If technically required and intended design wise, preventive repairs, i.e. preventive maintenance, are a determining factor to ensure that the equipment, plants and systems operate as smoothly and with as little downtime as possible. Repair planning, which is to be anchored in the technical documentation, thus acquires great significance. In cooperation with the technical departments of our customers, based on the initial analyses, we at eko•ILS Logistics GmbH are then capable of creating the corresponding documentation and have the appropriate tools at our disposal to do so.

Maintenance Description

Creating maintenance descriptions in a technical documentation requires an integrative approach that properly integrates the data, information and results developed in the course of a logistics program as a whole.

This is where the results obtained from the creation process converge as a description of the:

  • measures to be taken,
  • required human and material resources,
  • and any required activity durations.

Repair Documentation

The requirement to supply repair documentation for a defined maintenance level is intended to enable the end customer to carry out these tasks within his own area of responsibility. If no independent repair documentation exists for the device in question, we are then at our customers' disposal to create such documentation.

Since this entails in-depth descriptions and sometimes the transfer of know-how, the framework and boundary conditions and the manner of execution are always subject to detailed coordination with our customers.
