Data Collection and Analysis

Logistics Engineering methodologies encompass a variety of possible analyses across the spectrum, such as

  • Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD)
  • FMEA, FMECA
  • Fault Tree Analyses (FTA)
  • Maintenance Reliability Maintenance Measures (RCM)
  • Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
  • Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
  • spare parts optimisation
  • LCC calculations

The data basis of the respective manufacturer is an indispensable prerequisite and is a further indication of the need for a close collaboration with our customers and clients.

Graphical and Mathematical Modelling and Calculations

As it is seldom possible to demonstrate and measure the operating and failure behaviour of technical configurations on a real life object, a model representation must be used instead.

This model is visualised by block diagrams, for instance, showing the function-related arrangement of the specific components. Other times, fault logics are depicted in the form of a tree with a logical AND-OR link.

We at eko•ILS Logistics GmbH use powerful computing tools from the world’s leading suppliers in this field to do this and perform the necessary calculations.

Definition of Requirements for Logistics Services and Products

Logistics Engineering activities are understood as the prerequisite required for an integrated provision of logistics services. The subsequent activities are a logical continuation of the process. The results obtained therein are used as the specifications required for designing and developing the specific logistics product.

This includes, among other things,

  • planning maintenance from RCM, MTA
  • developing training courses from TNA
  • defining spare parts packages from RBD, FMECA
  • documenting maintenance tasks from RCM, MTA
  • considering the cost elements from LCC
